Jennifer
S. Williams Training
Jennifer Schrader-Williams has been training out of Summervale
Farm for almost ten years now. She began competing internationally
when she was twenty years old as an advanced young rider
and has since progressed into the professional arena.
In 2003 she began competing at the Grand Prix level and
in her first season achieved her gold medal with the talented
mare Phirst Solo. Also in 2003 she began to venture down
to California to compete on the CDI circuit with the 2006
Bay stallion H.S. Wistar which has proved very successful.
She continues to improve her education and work to improve
her own skills and works hard to incorporate those skill
and values into her own students. Since 2003 she has traveled
to California each year to work with instructors such
as Klaus Balkenhaul, Debbie McDonald, Krissy Harrison,
and Jurgan Hoffman.
Jennifer occasionally has availability to add your mount
in her training
schedule. She will often accept certain qualified horses
into our consignment program as well. Our goal is to provide
high quality dressage horses for sale with quality training
already established. We try to offer a partner at a fair,
reasonable price that will go on to a successful career
with a happy customer. Please see our Sold
Horses Page for references and up to date info
on how many of our past mounts are doing today.
Lessons
When Jennifer gives a lesson, she is teaching the rider
to train the horse, rather than just to ride the horse.
As a result, her students find themselves making unparalleled
advancement with their horses. Alice Budd, a student for
about two years says, "when I started with Jennifer,
my horse Tom and I would have been thrilled just not to
embarrass ourselves in a training level test. Now we are
schooling third level movements and I know if I stay with
Jen, I can actually become a grand prix rider--and I will
have trained my horse myself. Every lesson is a challenge
that ends with homework and goals."
Jennifer says, "Teaching takes practice. You have
to evaluate the problem and find several ways to explain
how to fix it. "I try to break learning into small
steps." She is satisfied as a teacher when her student
feels accomplishment. She truly wants to see each and
every one of her students succeed and it shows with the
amount of effort she puts forth in every lesson.
If you would like to schedule a lesson with Jennifer or
come out and watch her ride or teach please email her

and she will be happy to set up a time for you. We have
a very supportive, positive, and encouraging group here
at Summervale Farm and we would love to have you as a
part of our team. Jennifer regularly attends local and
national competitions and can help you develop a strategy
for the success of you and your horse. Whether it be small
day to day training objectives or Championship titles,
Jennifer will do her very best to help you attain what
you are striving to achieve. Most importantly Jennifer
will always look out for the best interest in your partner
and is dedicated to their health and well being.
